With the introduction of the Integrated Sanitation Approach in Southeast Asia, BORDA Myanmar and its partners are currently developing customised concepts to tackle the sanitation challenges of large residential housing development projects. This includes the introduction of decentralised solid waste management (DESWAM), decentralised wastewater treatment systems (DEWATS) and faecal sludge management (FSM) services.
In partnership with the Department of Urban Housing and Development (DUHD), Ministry of Construction (MOC), BORDA is implementing DEWATS for the Ayewarwun Yadanar high-rise building complex in Dagon Seikkann township, Yangon. Upon its completion, this system will be one of BORDA’s largest DEWATS installations in the Southeast Asia region.
